Hi, I'm Jussi the Coach.

I built Money Journey because tracking your finances should feel less like a chore and more like an engaging path worth walking.

Why I built this

Personal finance is my passion. I've kept a spreadsheet of my net worth for more than a decade. I've written a personal finance blog for almost a decade. It has been fun and has worked for me personally — but at the same time I have felt that there is more that can be done. With modern development tools it finally became realistic for me to build something bigger.

I wanted an app that took the boring, repeatable habits that actually build wealth — tracking, reviewing, adjusting — and gave them a breath of life. So I borrowed an idea from games: levels, quests, a character that grows with you. The numbers underneath are still as serious as any finance tool, designed and built with over a decade of experience in the field. The journey on top is what makes the experience special.

Why a "journey"

Wealth-building is the longest game most of us ever play. Decades long, maybe even the whole lifetime. And most finance apps treat it like a transaction log — every screen a snapshot, never a story.

Money Journey is different. There's a start, a destination you can see, and a path between them you walk one step at a time. Each level in Money Journey is designed to teach you more about managing your personal finances until you have mastered the art. To succeed, you need to embrace the newly-learned skills. This may sound intimidating, but Money Journey offers all the right tools for you to prosper, you just need to believe in your ability to change.

What I believe about money

  • Boring beats clever.

Index funds, automation, and patience outperform almost every hot tip.

  • Earning is half the equation.

Spending less matters. Earning more matters at least as much, and usually more.

  • Tracking is the lever.

What you measure, you manage. What you don't measure, drifts.

  • Anyone can learn money skills.

It is not complicated, but you need the right mindset and the right tools.

  • Young adults are in the prime position to leverage money skills.

Still decades ahead to compound investments, low base costs that don't need to be painfully cut, and a career path ahead promising increased income. In that position mastering money skills truly makes a difference.

Based in Finland

Money Journey is built and operated from Finland and made for everyone, wherever they are. Your data is stored in the EU, and the whole project is shaped by a Nordic sensibility: long-term, calm, privacy-first, no dark patterns.

I hope to see you on the path to a prosperous future!
